Introducing Seniors101.ca Food 4 Thought Podcast.
We know you want the best information at your fingertips, and you want it available when and where it’s most convenient to you. That’s why we launched a new information medium on January 1st. We’ve launched a podcast called “Seniors101 Food 4 Thought”.
If you haven’t listened to one yet, you’ll soon find out how fun and convenient podcasts are for information and entertainment. Statistics published by podcastinsights.com/podcast-statistics give a snapshot of the rising interest in podcasts on every conceivable subject. Nearly half of the Canadian and US population have listened to at least one podcast.
Listeners are typically affluent educated and loyal with 80 per cent listening to all or most of each episode. Podcast listeners tune in to an average of 7 different shows a week. 49 per cent listen at home and 22 per cent listen while driving with the remainder listening in while on the bus, while walking, biking or working out. (However, no one has tried to listen while swimming, as far as we know).
Stats like these convinced us to get started, and we invite you to tune in to our entertaining and educational podcasts about a wide variety of topics relating to, or of interest to, seniors on Vancouver Island.
Our first three episodes are ready to go, starting with a conversation between the show’s host Mathieu Powell and myself. Our second is with certified Caregiving Consultant, educator and popular columnist Saskia Jennings, and our third is with Dr. David Suzuki about Family and the Environment.
Watch for each new episode published twice a month on the 1st and 15th, and feel free to give us feedback, ideas and suggestions on topics, people or events you’d like to see us cover.
The power and allure of the spoken word is evident in 2019, and we’re delighted to bring it with topics you’re going to enjoy.
Warm regards,
Roy Summerhayes
